WHY TRANSPORT KNOWLEDGE CENTER? Center for
Transportation and Logistics Studies – Gadjah Mada University
(PUSTRAL-UGM) is a research center of a very strong commitment to a better
condition of transportation and regional development. The commitment
manifests in various forms of research activities involving stakeholders
who have deep concerns with transportation and regional development. Reference center for a
research center is as vital as breath for life. In its commitment to be an
excellent research center, PUSTRAL UGM sets up its reference center named
TRANSPORT KNOWLEDGE CENTER (TKC). In the initial sage, TKC will operate as
a conventional library housing a collection of more than 2000 book titles.
It will be developed in the future into a reference center accessible on
line and provides a breadth number of collection for reference in the form
of both hardcopy and softcopy. COLLECTION The reference
collection kept in TKC comprises of more than 2.000 titles from distinct
publishing houses, with a range of themes as in the following:

in need of information on transportation and regional development. With
its open access, users are encouraged to select and pick a book on their
own assistance, to be read in the reading room. TKC will open
6 days a week from 08 – 16.00 on Monday through Saturday, and
from 8.00 – 12 on Saturday. It closes on Sunday. TKC provides one computer unit accessible for internet, and is equipped with a searching machine to trace the reference collection in TKC. To serve photocopy requests for a limited number of photocopy, TKC then opens a photocopy order service.
